Kursübersicht AG136 Organizational Development and LearningLehrende(r) der Kurseinheit: ObjectivesThe aim of this course is to improve the understanding of human behavior in organizations and enable the students with the ability to build and manage interrelations within the organization. In this course students will also learn how to improve organizational performance through the use of Organizational Development techniques. Readings and cases are assigned to give the student a clear understanding of the specific material and to afford the student the opportunity to apply the theory, and put it into practice. Conceptual frameworks, case discussions, and skill-oriented activities are blended within topics. Contents of the CourseUnder organizational development, the procedures that increase organizational effectiveness will be outlined. This includes planned organizational change, which occurs over long periods of time, depending on personal and situational factors. In organizational change, quality management (QM) processes need to be understood and updated. Organizational learning is inherently a theme in organizational development, with focus on improving current systems present in the organization, and creating or changing the values and culture in the company to be aligned with updated organizational goals. Students will learn how to combine these two concepts and use them in a practical setting via case studies. Students are to choose an organization in the industry they plan to work in in the future and analyse the current structure, QM procedures, and performance, and suggest improvements in management and organizational processes using knowledge acquired in this seminar.
