Kursübersicht "Introduction into International Business "Instructor: M.Ed.Sofiko Dzhvarsheishvili, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University ObjectivesThe primary objective of this Course is to introduce the students to the global economy to obtain a basic introduction regarding this subject matter and the major issues involved therein. The course will cover basic terminology and theoretical structure as well as practical implications. ContentsThe course is divided into a five major sections. Each section contains chapters that provide information on essential topics of international business. The first sections will provide an introduction to the field of international business including background on globalization and how multinational corporations (MNCs) compete strategically. In second section I will discuss – how MNCs, in today’s global financial systems, get capital from bond and stock markets outside of their own countries. The third section looks inside the countries where MNC’S do business. Here we can consider in the context of Georgia too. In fourth section we consider – how MNC conducting its international business. The last part will contains information about managing ethical and social responsibility in an MNC.
Teaching MethodsThere are five elements to learning on this course, all of which are equally important. These are:
PrerequisitesFormal: Full-time student of Business Administration (BA Program) in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences (WISO) OR exchange student with approved learning agreement. Academic: This course does not build up on any other courses offered on campus. It is therefore suitable for first-semester students. As the language of instruction and assessment will be English, students need to be fluent in English - both in terms of oral and written communication. AssessmentGrades will be based on a mid-term exam worth 40 points and a final exam (or written essay and/or presentation) worth 60 points, for a total of 100. Exams will be based on the material covered in class. The instructor reserves the right to make changes to this syllabus, as appropriate.
BewertungDie Prüfungsleistung ist erbracht und ECTS-Punkte werden zuerkannt, wenn die Prüfungsleistung zu der gewählten Kurseinheit des Gesamtmoduls bestanden worden ist.
