Course Objective

This course provides students with a solid understanding of economic decision-making approaches useful to businesses in an ever-changing global economic environment.

  • Module 8: Production and the Behavior of Costs in the Short Run and Long Run
  • Module 9: Profit Analysis of the Business Firm
  • Module 10: Market Structure and Firm Behavior in the Short Run and Long Run
  • Module 11: Supply and Demand in Factor Markets
  • Module 12: Analysis of Capital Projects and Risk

Teaching Method

The course will be delivered in interactive lecture format, with active learning exercises. The language of instruction is English.

Prerequisites

Formal requirements: Full-Time students of Business Administration (M.A.) in the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences.

Content requirements: Fluency in English.

Assessment

Grades will be based on one mid-term examination worth 30 points, a set of homework assignments worth 30 points, and a final exam worth 40 points, for a total of 100. Exams will be based on the material covered in class. The format of the exams will be indicated prior to the test. The homework assignments are intended to help students keep up with the course material and to evaluate their progress. The instructor reserves the right to make changes to this syllabus, as appropriate.

Bewertung

Die Prüfungsleistung ist erbracht und ECTS-Punkte werden zuerkannt, wenn Prüfungsleistungen zu zwei verschiedenen Kurseinheiten des Gesamtmoduls bestanden worden sind.

Die Prüfungsleistung für diese Kurseinheit geht zur Hälfte in die Prüfungsleistung für das Gesamtmodul ein.
